I have utilised a plain birdcage and used my lace stash ( vintage from my Nanna and sister) and one of Nanna's old doilies in the base. I then made the flowers with my cricut.

The only cart I had to play with was Mothers Day Bouquet but I was quite happy as I wanted to have a first attempt at decorating a birdcage.

I only used one cut but at different sizes and with some older stamping-up paper that I had. I put each flower through the cuttlebug with a sizzix die and played with some laces, pebbles and sprays!
I also had fun melting ribbon...so did my son!!

I think I have a lot to learn yet but it was fun!

Perhaps not so good close up - however I do love the flowers and I love the pebbles in the centre but I cannot for the life of me remember where I bought them!

and inside is a chandalier!

I love my space...and here it is!

We are in a home that is 90 years old, we still have some renovating to do eg in this room however..I love it! There is space, wooden boards, high roofs, quiet open rural street and so much to play with!!
I pulled up the old carpet last week and the very old lino that was underneath and now have scrubbed boards with old paint on them that we will sand when the walls are plastered.
Meanwhile, its very comfy and peacefull......

I rearranged the tables and added some basic shelving, you can see one wall still has old wall paper...in the hey day this wall used to open up for entertaining and my Nanna who was born and bred in Maffra, had her kitchen tea in this house and my Mum was the first Miss Australia Quest entrant for Maffra and attended the home many times with her young friend (who became my dad) for fund raising functions etc!

Another wall of semi organised storage...the birdcages were a recent find at the reject shop. I am going to shabby then up a bit and hang them from the roof in this room!
Some of my large button collection can be seen on the shelves and laces to the right (some of my laces!) In the foregroung on partial view is my nanna's school case which has her intiials on it and in which I keep some of my old laces and doilies which I love to collect.......a true hoarder of bits and pieces which I love!

A very simple corner behind the door. Standing height for cutting and embossing and some cricut green bins for scraps etc, a couple of towel racks for the punches (previously in a drawer and cluttered).
So a bit of an improvement - the cricut, computer and printer are on the old desks under the window, I will add this shot but have the venetians up so its glary but its nice sitting at this window and looking out the front. Also we have the outdoor setting under the verandah so often hubby might be out there and we talk through the window!! LOL..or I can watch the boys mowing and the cats at play!

Hi Everyone, I have had a few inquiries regarding using the scrapped cd case for photos. I have done this before and it was fun to make and I enjoy the photos of a very special family gathering often as it is always on display. Hope this provides some inspiration. I made it a couple of years ago and was very new to the paper craft then! It is quite basic but special.
Enjoy and happy to help although its a bit of a challenging jigsaw puzzle putting the covers together!!

I am so excited....I have just posted my first tutorial!
Now - I have never done this before so please be gentle, but I would really appreciate some feedback to help me improve my technique and instructions.
Follow the tutorial tab and its there waiting for you!!
I really am enjoying this and especially as I have a lovely clean room to work in at present.....mmmm wonder how long that will last!!!

Hi All,
Sorry for my absence but I have been busy at work preparing for a lovely month off...which has now started.
I am going to clean the house, craftroom, complete some tutorials on my blog and hopefully share some more projects...and also planning several small trips in between and lots of coffee/lunches out!!

Here is my project for this week. I only have damask decor but loved using it. I googled lots of sites for inspiration and found lots of off the page ideas that I loved.
I decided on using the teapot and making a box perhaps to put various types of teabags in..... for my sister Jenny who I will be visiting soon in Townsville.....I hope!! Alas I will also be seeing my other sisters during my four weeks leave...Dette in Ocean Grove and Carol in Hilston...I am going to be busy....I want one for me too!!
Anyway here are some pictures and I will put together instructions in the next post.

I am working on Cricuting in Oz Week 4 challenge. The only cart I have for this one is Damask Decor...now I spend hours looking through the booklet and óoh and ahh' at the gorgeous designs but have hardly used it...I have been doing the same for the past hour!!
So finally I am trialing my first cut....more little cards if all goes well.....lets see...pictures as soon as I get one finished!!

The only cart I had was wall decor and more but there is such a large choice....funny I finished making a very simple project, but again really enjoyed it......I cut the coffee cups at 3"

I modified a gift bag which I sourced a long time ago from Maria Bell at www.stampininspirations.blogspot.com
I altered it to suit my needs and filled it with 6 matching giftcards. These are for a friend who does beautifull baking and will find them usefull.
I was almost tempted to keep adding to the cards but do like them simple and have stamped inside with a lovely bird on a branch.

Here is the link to a video on instructions for the photo cube cd cover box. The sound is not good but the instructions excellent. However I did not do the base instead I used some chipboard painted and cut to size. I glude the cube box onto this. It is more durable. When I tried the other way I just got frustrated and felt it was not sturdy.

I am going to make some more to have ready for simple gifts etc and perhaps some prizes to dontae for our next retreat.

The measurements are 4 pieces of cardstock 5 3/4 X 4 5/8
I actually cut 8 of these as I lined mine as well...it gives a better look on the inside if desired. These stayed plain but the other 4 I scored and folded one end a 1/4 inch, inked the edges and then decorated as desired.

There is space for some dimension but not too much, however I did place some scrap thick card in between the keep the card close to the plastic as other wise it can 'bow' back and not look as neat....hard to explain but will become clear when actually putting it together.
I was hesitant and concerned the clear tape might show up but it doesn't and is needed to keep it together.

Most of the cuts are create a critter with some word from graphically speaking. I enjoyed this project but it challenged me..especially putting the box together, there is definitely a knack to it. I have only done this once before.
Its fun though.

I bought some perfect pearls mist and just love it...I cannot stop myself spraying everything....

even the cats if they stay there on the new setting!!!lol..I just love them though!!

This is a store worth a visit!!

Managed by the lovely Leonie and crew of wonderfull staff who are all so enthusiastic and willing to share and help anyone that comes in.
Enter and the atmosphere is so inviting...the store is very large, spatious and organised. There is a huge classroom area at the back and a smaller one for our cosier groups...I love Thursday card nights.

The cross section of talents amongst the staff adds to the value of a visit.

Make it your stop if passing through Traralgon. It is so easy to find, right on the highway - just up from the nursery where hubby can visit! Or near the cheesecake shop and next door to the saddlery shop with the life size horse out the front!

Now its off to play with my purchases from Scrapbook Sinners this afternoon.....shhh dont tell my husband!!lol

Challenge 1 for cricuting in oz...

Thanks to Mandy at scrappygolucky.com.au our facebook group cricuting in oz have started a weekly challenge to use set cricut cartridges. The aim is to get using those carts that we have had for ages and not used much. Its wonderfull. The only cartridge I had of the five we could use was sweet treats. I was so pleased with the end product and I love this cartridge but have hardly used it!

The treat bag contains gorgeous chocolates wrapped in paper with angels on it!!

Someone is going to be happy to receive this very soon..it will be in the mail on Monday!!

I cant wait to make more now!

Cricut sync....
I just love cricut craftroom and have had no major issues with it, however I have just had to remove and rload to overcome an error...it did not take long and is working fine now.
What I am having issues with is a bridge error with cricut sync so actively trying to resolve this. Have done the steps of altering the virus protection softrware by making an exception for the program however still continue to have issues. I am wondering if it is to do with dates.
Would appreciate any feedback.

It is so easy to find which cartridge a cut is on...simply type in the cut you are after and it will bring up each cartridge whcih has that cut on it.
So hard as the library of carts grows to remember what is what...I already have too many, its so addictive!!

Hi Everyone,

Hope this finds you all well and still enjoying or reflecting on a lovely Christmas like we have had.

It was quiet this year but so wonderfull to have both Mum, Dad, Becky and Marg (MIL)joining Jordie, Garry and myself.
We had enough food for about 20 so no colling needed for a while. The 16 batches of shortbread are still lasting and have been used for lots of sharing to friends etc.

There always a story...I put the lovely new Christmas cloth on the outdoor table, came inside and Jordie said "Hey Mum the cats have run along the table and left paw prints everywhwere!!" Well...cheeky things.....never mind we left it and turned it over later!! We ate dinner inside anyways.

The Christmas parcels were all so appreciated and "just right"for everyone!
Garry and Jordie are just putting together our long awaited outdoor setting for snuggling into on the front verandah..I have wanted one for a very long time to put here and will post a snap later!

I am posting a couple of the cards to share that we made at Scrapbook Sinners in Traralgon with lovely Leonie and her crew. its a great shop to visit if you are ever in the area...next to the Cheesecake shop which most people know!

Almost finished, new tags

I am almost finished now, have presented the teachers with a basket of gifts, not to forget some Crown lager and bubbly.... now its finishing off some tags on my lolly cones and thats it.

Yahoo cricut club night tonight as well!!

The tags are another one from art philosophy and are so effective witht ehred behind and some bling, I also love using the white gelly pen too, it has been used so much this year!

Ooops, nearly forgot, the bowl is huge and full of the chocolates etc I use in the Santa and pyramid bags!!! I also have extra padding around my middle now too..bit like Santa...oh dear!!!

Well I am still producing in the craft room.....

Here are a couple of snaps of what I have finished -
There are all up 30 santa bags, 20 M&M cones, will be about 45 pyramid boxes, 16 batches of shortbread (I do 4 at a time) and about 8 of the dishes of chocolates. I love these dishes I bought them about 2 years ago in Chadstone Myers, they were selling them for $2 and $3 each, after this christmas there will be none left but they have made the most wonderfull base for christmas gifts!!
Now I just have to make a heap more tags, the little red ones in the photos were made with Art philosophy cart and matching stamp set, so easy will a little gelly white ink to highlight. The berries for the holly tags were from bunches that are half price in spotlight ($1.50) each..I recommend buying some if you haven't had a chance.

Just a quick post..I have been bargain hunting in spotlight today, they had all the christmas themed craft and scrapping products half price..PLUS a big bin of all sorts for 20c each!!

Needless to say I had a ball and hubby wandered off....lol....poor fellow!!

Food cover decorated with cricut cuts..

I have made a few of these now for friends...the idea came to me randomly whilst browsing in Sam's!!
I have done the lady bugs, butterflies, cows, flowers so far...
Anyway on our recent retreat I made one and won the prize for off the page articles...I was so chuffed!!!

Here is an example, the photos do not do it justice, is very simple and so easy to make.....

Hi All,

I have had lots of interest in the pos it note holders that I make. So here are the instructions..they are super easy, super quick and super loved by anyone I have given them to.
They are also easily refillable as the post pad is simply attached to the inside with tacky tape so a new one can be added.

Supplies:

Craft board ( not too heavy but firm enough to keep shape( I sourced mine in large sheets from an art shop in Melbourne city area and the lovely fellow cut them into 4" squares for me for nothing...so happy!

Selected scrapbook paper or such cut at 4 inch squares X 4 sheets

Zutter and matching wires

Cricut cuts or other corations to fit

Ink to ink s edges

Sanding tool
Glues etc

1. Cover front and back of two card square
2. Sand edges once glue has dried
3. ink the four sides of each
4. Decorate the front of one square (remembering to leave space for the coils to fit. Sometimes I bind first and then add the decoration.
5. Tacky tape the post it pad to the inside back cover firmly.
6. If you wish.. stamp a minature stamp on the right hand ower corner of each page of the post it pad just a nice extra touch!!

Good Morning all...we have nice drizzling rain here in Maffra! Yeah...I can craft to my hearts content..but have a big mess to clean up at the end of the day..lol...(there is always a big mess in my craft room..but this one is on the kitchen table!)Here are some photos of post it note holders that I have been making for a long time. I think I have probably made and given away about 50 of them over a long period!!! The teachers enjoy them as do work colleagues and friends.These ones are not prettied upo in their bags and labelled etc but will show you how simple they are to make.Maine ingredient is cricut cuts and zutter to bind with. I usually finifhs touch with a little stamp on the lower corner of each page of the post it pad...(crazy lady!)Enjoy....Happy to provide instruction if needed.

Hi All,Just wondering how everyone is getting along with cricut craft room. I am having very few issues. I have watched the videos again recently to find the little things that I have not yet familiarised with and that has helped a lot. I recomend doing this if you have not done so as yet.These can be found on the cricut.com site.I am very sad at present as my Gypsy died and I have had to purchase a new one...Christmas present...this has to come from USA ( but I did purchase in Australia..from scrappygolucky.com.au). The new one has to be cloned to my old ones serial number so my 50 or so carts can then be cloned to my new one!! If that sounds confusing its not really and all makes sense. I would like to thank Tracey from Printblocks Australia and Mandy from scrappygolucky.com.au for assisting me through this process.

Christmas santa goodie bags

Here is another photo of some goodie bags for Christmas..these are so simple to make. I found them online and am embarrassed to say I cannot acknowledge where from but I am very appreciative of this idea. The biggest issue I had was finding some narrow white fluffy for the tops, this was the smallest I could buy. $3.99 metre at Spotlight.I cut the bags 2 to one cardstock 12 X 12Of course the bag is from Art Philosophy, mine and lots of other cricuters new favourite cart!!! I adore this cart!!!

I love this time of year and have been madly making cards and little gift bags etc for our teachers and work mates. There are so many to make this year I am worried if I will get them all done on time...but I always do!!!I have been really enjoying the last few days and included

in this time have done a couple of classes at Scrapbook Sinners at Traralgon.The staff and other customers i have met at classes are all just wonderfull...very sharing, caring and fun loving group!!Here are a couple of cards I have done on cricut in the last day or so...they are easy ones to repeat for bulk stock and I have to say the photo does not really do them justice, they are quite nice.....

Wow, its been so long, I have been very busy in my main job and therefore so little time for favourite things!!
I have been able to start again and pick up cricut. We went to a retreat for the last three days just playing with cricut in a group of 30 and it was so exciting. I just want to take some time out and catch up with the hours of scrapping that I have missed!
I have been lucky enough to be able to order the expression 2 and am excitedly awaiting its arrival. I have also met a great group of very keen crafters from Traralgon and look forward to many hours shring our hobby together...
I am also looking forward to sharing more photos and some fabulous new ideas etc in the very near future, stay tuned!!!

Notepad and post-it pad...roses!

This has to be one of my current favourite papers at present. I love roses and hydrangeas, these are my favourite flowers. I think because my lovely nanna grew both so well and they constantly remind me of her.

I wanted to make a little gift for another lovely lady, my mother in law who is just such a gentle and nice person with a heart of gold!

Here is the result.......I enjoyed these so much, there are lots of helpfull videos and tutorials out there particularly for the post it note holders and also a variety of different patterns to use.

Here is the purse bag I made today.....

This is my first effort so please be forgiving, particularly of the photos!!

I enjoyed making this bag and have altered it with different handles and also by using a magnetic closure.

I am quite happy with this pattern and it will make lovely gifts being the perfect size to hold a set of matching cards.

Hi Everyone, well Christmas has been and almost gone...

I have to apologise for not having posted for such a long time...my New Years resolution is to be very regular on my posts and not to neglect this fantastic hobby!!!
There are so many new "toys" out there for us cricut lovers.....the Gypsy and so many cartridges and not to forget SCAL 2 and now "Make the Cut" which was my Christmas gift to myself....I could not resist!!!!

I hope you have all had a happy and safe year and look forward to lots of comments and sharing over 2010.

Locally I am planning to develop a "cricut users group", so if any of you read this and are interested please let me know. This would be established locally in the Maffra - Sale area and I am hoping can be run from Maffra Community House which is now located at the Maffra District Hospital site. Stay tuned!!!

I am very excited to have recieved three new carts over Christmas......Hello Kitty, Winter Wonderland and Everyday Paper Dolls. The latter will be so much fun...especially after seeing the kids all playing guitar hero etc...great guitarist on this cart and also for us nurses there is a gorgeous nurse!!! lol

Anyway, on a serious note, I will be back soon and hope to post regularly and with some new creations!!!

The first card above is a slide card which I used my favourite stamp set form Stampin Up for. I love this and I love their papers!

The green & white card is cut with the Wild Card cartridge, such fun!! I used an svg cut on SCAl to make the dahlia like flowers. (These were shared by a very generous person on the web)

And , yes...yet another shoe card!!

Yet again I apologise for being very late with a new post....I cannot understand where the time has gone.

I have been busy creating although not nearly as productive lately as I would like!! Much of my time has been spent learning to use SCAL and Inkscape and fiddling with CDS which I love!

I have added a couple of cartridges to my collection and particularly enjoy Lyrical Letters and Graphically Speaking.

I will attach a couple of cards I have made lately although I did not have time to play too much with the camera today but you will get an idea!

I just LOVE the corset (sourced from a wonderfull sharing person on the web) and the shoes which were Dingbats!!! That is the beauty of Sure Cuts A Lot...I would not be without it now I have had a taste!!

Its been a very hectic year for us in lots of unexplainable ways.....just everyday life to some extent. My son has had some surgery this week and is doing fine now. In fact more than fine he has had very little discomfort.

On a negative note...

This morning we discovered someone had broken into our 4WD by breaking the drivers window. They searched everywhere and did not find anything of value so then proceeded to damage the vehicle by breaking the blinker lever and the gear stick.

Anyway my major excitement for the week was to purchase SCAL....I have been mulling over this for a long time and now wonder why on earth I waited. I have already cut the most gorgeous dragon fly and also fern leaves. The possibiliites are now truly endless.

Above are some cards I have finished off today.

I am heading off to card making tonight which is a local group of us who meet monthly and really enjoy each others company. We also come away with some finished cards and wonderfull new inspiration and ideas.

Its been too long...

It has been far too long since I have postedm however like all of us the activities of our home life and working life fill the 24 hours a day very well!
We have had a family wedding, holidays, study deadlines and all sorts of things. However I can see a calmer time ahead for a while now.
I look forward to posting some new cardsa nd projects very soon.
I am currently working on a poster for International Nurses Day which represents the staff at my workplace and the services we provide at our local hospital. I hope I can do them justice!!

Hi Everyone, well here are two more cards. I am going to make a set of these and a box or folder to hold them.
I am enjoying making some simple card edges with DS. It is good practice to familiarise and gain confidence with the program. Learning more all the time.
There is lots of support on cricut.com messageboard with very caring sharing people who help out lots and whose blogs are well worth subscribing to.
In fact today I have spent more time cruising the MB and related blogs than doing anything else!!

Here is a littel card I made. The border is the scroll from Joys of The Season. I used the hide contour feature to eliminate the bells and circels that were not required. I am happy to share the cutfile.

I really enjoyed making this card. It was very fiddly especially creating the very tiny ricrac cut that is on the plate stand. It is so very fine. I did not have a brighter ribbon for the side of the card but might replace in with my next shop!

The scallop circles are nestibilities. I stamped the pink background on the white circle and then put it through the cuttlebug do folder. I just love my bugs!

The card is 6" square. The cupcakes are only about 1" so were quite fiddly as well. I bought a pack of paper designed for the splice which I do not own but the shimmer paper pack is just gorgeous. It also cuts very well on the cricut despite the texture and added shimmer.

I do not have a plate stand on amy of my 25 cricut carts so made this one on DS.

I will post the cutfile for this and also for the ric rac.

I am on holidays for another 10 days and can just play to my hearts content. Trouble is I simply don't know where to start!!

I needed to make some masculine cards. These could be for any occasion really...

I just love this stamping up set and I also am enjoying becoming familiar with Graphically Speaking..a very usefull cricut cart. The compass is cut in two differnet sizes and colours and simply placed one on top of hte other. There are so many possibilities with this cart. I need so many more hours in my days!...and I know I am not alone in that!!!

I have enjoyed fiddling and making this card today. Now I have four ready to send for our swap and I just need to stamp some images to send as well! It looked unfinished until I used the leaf stamp and versamark. The photo is a bit glary

We have had such a lovely relaxing weekend. Caught up with some friends who we dont see too often and did so much laughing and reminiscing!!

A cupcake with a difference....

This card has amused me for quite a while this afternoon. I actually did some sewing on it!

Now I was a bigtime sewer at one stage and just love machine embroidery but papercraft has taken over.

The photo of this card may not do it justice.

The card is from Wild Card cartridge which I am just loving. I covered the background with stitched rows of white lace adn then added a border of white ricrac, all this because I could not decide on what to do in the background.

The cuttlebug came in very handy. I used the swiss dots for the icing on the cupcake and the stripes for the cupcake base. Then the hearts from walk in my garden and used stamping up shimmer on these and the candle and also on the butterflies.

The butterflies are my favourite from spellbinders nestabilities and these work very well in the cuttlebug if you have the correct sandwhich recipe.

The card is large about 9 inches high and 6 inches wide. It is definitely a scrappy statement!

Hope you like it....obviously it tickles my fancy!!

Here are some of the cards I have made lately. Some are made with CDS, others just cricut and others are from our stamping up class.

I will put the cutfile on my blog for the lacework on the edge of the vase of roses card. I like it but eventually will recreate it slightly finer. Please add a comment to my blog if you download any of my cutfiles.

The last card is a cutfile which I have previously posted on my blog. I am just playing around with it and making a set of these as they are my favourites at present.

Two new cards with cutfiles...

I have had a wonderfull play with myc ricut expression this weekend. I have been wanting to become more familiar with designing on CDS. Thanks to Diane at Capapedia Designs and her fabulous tutorials and support I have managed to make a start!!
The above card is all from Walk in My Garden.
It is a cut file. This includes the base design. I then on the second page added the individual items at the same size as on the base. This means I am able to cut the seperate parts out of other colours and now I have a lovely collection and will play and make more of these cards. It is about 5 3/4 inches high.
It may not be colourfull enough for some tastes but I love the overall look.

This card is also from Walk in My Garden and I think the writing is George.
Again the base is one piece a cut file and I have added a separate page with individual pieces and a couple of others sizes of the flowers to build them.
I like this one very much and it is so simple but I feel effective.

I cannot tell you all how pleased I am to have mastered the CDS to this level. I cannot get enough of it!!
I am happy to share the cutfiles for these two vases of flowers. Just please leave a comment.

Unfortunately for me my two Units of study for my Masters will arrive very shortly and full item work plus study and family leaves little time for such pleasures as my papercraft.
However to succeed I am a pretty good time manager and make sure I will have a little playtime.

Our thoughts are with all those who have lost loved ones and homes over the past few days with these horrid fires.
We woke up this morning to ash and filth outside and did not complain at all because its nothing compared to the sorrow and suffering of so many. Out thoughts are with you all and the wonderfull firefighters who put themselves at risk for others.
I believe the death toll in Victoira at present time is 65 and others remain criticial or unaccoutned for. It is truly horrific.

The brown purse....

I made this one recently and really enjoyed the process. It is made from the brown paper from the Vintage Collection, Color Core Cardstock.

I used the cuttelbug small zigzag border to make the faux stitching embossing. Then I used my stamping up pen to colour in the depressions to make it more pronounced.

Needless to say the brown was not a favourite for the kids but it is one of my favourites. I also like the added feature of the cricut leaves.

Yet again its been longer than I had planned before posting!! We have been a very busy family with lots of visits to my folks at Seaspray.
It was absolutely fabulous as 7 of my young nieces and nephews all lined up to make paper purses with me.....whew I have a brand new respect for primary school teachers!!
They were all so excited. It started as I made one fore ach of the girls and filled them with goodies, like lip gloss, soaps etc and the boys all wanted one!!! LOL!!
So luckily I had my usual boxes of supplies in the boot and off we went.
Well we didn't finish until about 10pm as they all were leaving the following day.

I am uploading photos of their efforts.

Needless to say my brother, sister and their partners were delighted by the child minding service!!!

I loved every minute and the gorgeous thankyou cards they gave to me to display in my office at work.

It's been longer that I had planned before writing again. it is so busy this month with school holidays , family visiting, work continuing and wanting to do some papercraft!!
I have been having a lovely time with my Bind It All but most unfortunately I actually broke it!! The handle has come adrift inside the machine. As I purchased it overseas it is not worth my while sending it back for repai so am waiting for the new model replacement.
That will be fun!!
The card above is the final one for my cricut.com Assue swap. The criteria was to use the cricut machine somehow in the card and the theme is either Valentines Day or Mothers Day. I feel this card could be either.
The colours are definitley not my usual choice but I relaly enjoyed them and also playing with the Coredinations cardstock.

Some cards I made for a swap....

I had some time to myself this afternoon which I didn't think would happen so it has been lovely and relaxing. I am participating for the first time in a card swap through the cricut.com message board. This one is especially for us Aussies out there which makes postage etc a little easier. Anyway the theme for January is Mothers Day or Valentines day. So far these are what I have made.....

Sorry about the double copy of the last one...I could not figure out how to take one away...lol...I am not so experienced at this blogging business!!

Each card needs to feature something cricut on it. The first card was cut with a cricut cutfile for the scalloped edge (thankyou to the sharer of this file through cricut.com); the second features the flower and squares which highlight the cuttlebug painted and embossed writing and the final one features the writing and frame.

Lots of fun.

I also enjoyed applying the ink to the cuttlebug folder prior to useing it. You will need to click on the photo and enlarge it to see this detail.

We have had a very sad week with the loss of a good friend in a road accident. So needless to say my priority has been with my husband during this time as it was a mate who he grew up with. They share a love of motorbikes and unfortunately that is how it happened.
I will be back later next week with some more posts.

Bags galore...

Well I have to start with a tale of two kittens. They went missing today and my son and I looked everywhere...we finally found them asleep together on a dining chair hidden by the tablecloth!!

I have made about 6 purses today, can't you all tell I just love this pattern. Kitty and scorpal..thankyou again!! I have posted the link in my initial thread on this topic. I like the green one as I had fun making the floral border with CDS and found the new features so helpfull.

I was never keen on these papers but must admit they came up well for this purpose...

This is definitely everyones favourite...(In my house anyway)...The silver loooks stunning. Sorry my photo is not fabulous.

The black and white is also effective and another border made from cricut DS added finishing touch. I just need to purchase some more balck flowers to finish off the one on the right.

These will be used for gifts etc...its great to have a stash in the cupboard and be prepared!!

cricut gremlins and fixes!!

I have had the most wonderfull day. My cricut has been playing up when I use CDS for a while now and it gets very frustrating. It stops a short distance into a cut.
I have posted on cricut.com and am so happy to say that two wonderfull people posted a fix which worked!!!!
I am going to copy the information into this post becasue it was so simple to do and solved the problem and may benefit others.

TECH SUPPORT NOOK - Reset Process If your machine freezes, experiences power problems, cutting issues, or anything out of the realm of normal Cricut behavior, this reset procedure is a good place to start the troubleshooting process. Nine times out of ten, this will resolve the issue: - First, turn your machine on with no cartridge loaded. Then you are going to roll all your gray dials (the two on the left and the one on the right) down to their lowest setting. - Then you will want to grasp the green/gold cylinder blade ****embly and use it to pull the entire gray carriage car unit (the one with the Cricut bug on it) along its track to the other side of the machine. Back in the cave where the gray carriage car usually sits there is a red button. Press that button and hold it down for about three seconds. Let go and then move the gray carriage car back into place. - This next step will sound a bit odd, but many times it can fix your little "bug". You're going to roll all your dials all the way up and all the way down three times--three times for each dial. - Then you are going to hit the "Cut" button and turn the machine off. Let the machine sit for a few minutes (15-20), load a cartridge, turn it on, and try a practice cut.

Meanwhile back to heaven with my cricut!! I will post some more photos this evening of todays produce.

I am so pleased with this purse as the first one I did was not as nice, I think as I am not really keen on these glitter papers. However i do love the black and white effect and will definitely make some more in this colour range. Excuse the messy backgrounds but the other photos posted earlier are a little too dark.

Its my mum in laws birthday otday and I have a few goodies plus a voucher for her. How else to present this but in one of the paper purses!

I have altered the design slights by reducing the size fo the top piece to 4" X 5" instead of 5" X 5" simply so it fits neatly in the dotty cuttelbug folder.

The cricut cut out is from home accesnts cut at 1".

I also made the handle with a double layer of paper only because I wanted the print on both sides.

Have put in a close up of the finishing touches.

Well I have really enjoyed fiddly with htis in between taking down Christmas decorations much to the kittens distress as the tree has been thier favourite playground. However I found the lid of a cane basket which is their new resting place!

I have also included a photo of some King Proteus flowers which my sister picked for me over Christmas. They are just beautifull. She is lucky enough to be living next to a no longer utilised proteus farm and the owner allows her to pick anything she likes. I was thrilled with these and have kept the larger display and given the one on the left to MIL who was also delighted.

Welcome to my blog!

The sole purpose of this is to share my interest in papercrafting.
My favourite tools are the cricut paper cutter and of course my much loved scor-pal! What did I ever do without these......truth be known I did lots of sewing and in particular machine embroidery and patchwork........these are now second place.

Also I am a busy full time nurse manager, mother of two and wife of one (lol)! I am also studying my Masters of Nursing at present and enjoying the summer break.

We live in Maffra, a small town in Gippsland, Victoria. We have two children, one in Melbourne at University (21yo daughter) and our son at school (15yo).

I am so looking forward to meeting other paper crafters and cricut lovers and to sharing patterns and ideas. The scor-pal and cricut are always on my desk and never, never put away. No matter how busy I am with others things I always find time to do atleast one little project.

I will post some of my work and call in regularly to add to my blog!
