op shop finds...for my craft area and beyond...

I found this at a local op shop on the weekend and I could not resist it...love it...there is so much potential and it has such character and will be re-loved for along time in our home! Its in reasonable condition and was quite affordable. The handle needs screwing back in on he tray but it is original hardware and no damage.

The buffet below was another op shop purchase from a few weeks ago. It is a very solid piece, love the walnut laminate whichas some minooooodamage but all drawers, handles , legs are solid and original, excellent condition in my view. I think this was a bargain for $65.
Do you love this as much as I do????? Well my boys dont but that does not matter...lol!

This honey of an old frame was all of $5 at the local Salvo's....woosh its mine!!! I also received 3 vintage sewing patterns which were about 1930s and in great condition! Woohoo...they give the patterns away as they do not check the contents to see that all is there but they are gorg

Day of fun with our bird cage decorating!

A few of us got together to decorate some birdcages - and just play really!
It was loads of fun and what a mess we made!
Here is a photo of one that I have yet to complete........
Close up of the cricut flowers....

Both flower centres are pieces of old earings.....love them...unfortunately only had one of each!!

I particularly like the colours of the flowers and also the use of op-shop jewellery finds to decorate with.
The dyed fabric draped beneatht he flowers is muslin - torn and dyed using Tims inks.
I have a number of pages of various shapes and sized flowers on my gypssy now and every now and again I just cut more out, place them in a container and when I feel like it I emboss and crease them ready to assemble.

Thanks for looking.....

op shopping, market and more.....

We have a monthly St Vinnies sale day in our town. On the first Saturday of every month the sale starts at 9am. So many people go that there is a rope fence put up and it is not until exactly 9am that the rope drops and the crowd moves rapidly amongst the various tables.

There is all sorts of wonderfull things on sale and is a very worthwhile venture for this charity.
I have only just started going and get a real kick out of it. I always come home with something!! My husband always groans!!! My like minded friends always wish they lived in the area too!!!

Anyway today I did not buy too much but did enjoy myself. It is also very social and I met lots of friends and workmates there today.

So there is a big role of yarn, about 8 rolls of crochet thread and other yarn, and old boook for tags, flowers etc, some lace and doilies, a heavy (maybe silver but I dont think so) swan and other bits and pieces of jewellery for altered art etc.
I love this blackwood bowl which will be on my work table

No matter what its made of this is adorable. I can see it as a pincusion or simply to hold my jewellery bits during a project..

This bag of star anise is one of a few I made a few years ago and I still love it. The smell is divine.

The chook below is a little project I made up years ago. It has cloves inside and a cinnamin stick tied to the outsie and dimply hangs on door knobs or in closets. I sold so many of these. i also did heart and cow shapes at the time....love them!!

Anyway I am off to take some more snaps and plan my next project or two.

Op shop spree....

Just a little shop today.....and a garage sale......
The dishes were from a previous visit , the little box, broken bracelet and pedestal from the garage sale for total $3
I will make a birdcage to go on the pedestal.
Below ..this unsightly little piece of plastic..may have been a little lolly jar or something (50cents)will be altered for the perfect addition to something ''teapotty and shabby''....can't wait to play!!

All followed by a lovely lunch out....and a SHOE SHOP!!!!
